I am humbled to be appointed by Premier Doug Ford as the Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Citizenship and Multiculturalism of Ontario, the Hon. Michael Ford.

Despite the uncertainty of the present day, Ontario is continuing to deliver on its Plan to Build by investing in infrastructure to get more homes built faster and attracting better jobs with bigger paycheques, all while keeping costs down for families and businesses and retaining a path to balance.

A number of diverse businesses in Mississauga are flourishing, and new ones continue to open shop. They are choosing Ontario as the home for their businesses because we have created conditions for prosperity and growth that haven’t been seen in a long time.

I was happy to announce last month with my Peel colleagues that the Ontario government is providing Peel Regional Police with over $3 million, and Peel Joint Fire Communications Centre with $1.8 million for the transition to Next Generation 9-1-1.

The proposed Get It Done Act is focused on quickly and efficiently building infrastructure. All the while, keeping costs low for Ontarians.

The Ontario government is keeping costs down for public transit riders with the launch of “One Fare.” Beginning February 26, 2024, riders will pay only once as they transfer for free between participating transit agencies.

The government of Ontario has publicly expressed its intentions to expand service on the Milton GO Line, with the eventual goal of implementing two-way all-day train service.

“On Friday, I joined my colleagues at Peel Regional Police headquarters in Mississauga, where the Premier announced the Preventing Auto Thefts Grant, an $18-million investment over three years to help police services combat auto theft and protect communities, including $900,000 for Peel region.
